Accessibility statement for the Aldi Recruitment (Ireland) service

5th June 206

This accessibility statement applies to the domain www.aldirecruitment.ie.

This service is run by Aldi Recruitment (Ireland), and this statement has been prepared in line with accessibility requirements under the European Accessibility Act (EAA). Accessibility was assessed using EN 301 549, the recognised European standard for demonstrating conformity with the Act. The European Accessibility Act applies to this digital service. This statement is intended to meet the Act’s transparency and information requirements for users.

We want as many people as possible to be able to use this service. For example, that means you should be able to do the following:
•    change colours, contrast levels and fonts
•    zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
•    navigate most of the service using just a keyboard
•    navigate most of the service using speech recognition software
•    listen to most of the service using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)
•    access the service on smaller devices

We’ve also made the service text as simple to understand as we can.

We are committed to enhancing the usability and accessibility of our website, ensuring that all users can access and engage with our digital content in an inclusive and equitable manner. We support this commitment through accessibility tools, including Recite Me.

How accessible this service is
We know some parts of this service are not fully accessible:
•    Some buttons and non-decorative images have missing or inadequate alternative text, or the text is not discernible by assistive technologies.
•    Some prerecorded video elements lack equivalent text alternatives, and some lack captions.
•    Some parts of the service cannot be operated via keyboard.
•    Some link text is not self-explanatory, as it does not describe the link purpose.
•    Some frames lack titles.
•    Some parts of the service differ from analogous parts of the UK service.

More information on the accessibility issues appears in the section on non-accessible content, below.

Technical information about this service's accessibility
Aldi Recruitment (Ireland) is committed to making this service accessible, in accordance with the European Accessibility Act.

Compliance status
This service is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below. WCAG 2.1 is the accessibility standard required under the European Accessibility Act, which applies to this digital service.

Non-accessible content
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
This section lists the key ways in which this service fails to meet the WCAG 2.1 success criteria. It includes all violations of A and AA success criteria for which the testing found the issue to be serious or critical. It includes minor issues only if they relate to a Level A criterion. The issues appear in numerical order of the applicable success criteria.
Some images have missing or inadequate alternative text. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.1.1 (Non-text Content). We plan to ensure that all images have either null or meaningful, equivalent alt text by 31st October 2026.
Some prerecorded video elements are missing equivalent text alternatives, and some are missing captions. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criteria 1.2.1 (Audio-only and video-only (Prerecorded)) and 1.2.2 (Captions (Prerecorded)). We plan to ensure that all prerecorded video has meaningful alt text and captions by 31st October 2026.
Some parts of the service differ from corresponding parts of the UK service. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criteria 1.3.1 (Info and Relationships) and 3.2.4 (Consistent Identification). We plan to ensure that the IE and UK services are consistent by 31st October 2026.
Some parts of the service cannot be operated via keyboard. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 2.1.1 (Keyboard). We plan to ensure that all parts of the service can be operated via keyboard by 31st October 2026.
Some link text is not self-explanatory: it does not describe the link purpose. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 2.4.4 (Link Purpose (In Context)). We plan to ensure that all links have meaningful, self-explanatory text by 31st October 2026.
Some buttons have no text that assistive technologies can discern. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 4.1.2 (Name, Role, Value). We plan to ensure that all buttons have discernible text by 31st October 2026.

Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations
The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix non-compliant PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they’re not essential to providing our services. This audit did not find any non-compliant documents.

What we’re doing to improve accessibility
Our accessibility journey is continuing. This service underwent a full third-party accessibility audit on 3rd February 2026. This accessibility statement has been prepared to reflect the results of that assessment. We are working to correct the issues it found.
We are continually working to improve the accessibility of our service. We conduct regular accessibility audits, and we act on their findings. We learn from these audits and other accessibility information, and we continually apply new knowledge to the updates we make.

Preparation of this accessibility statement
This statement was prepared following an accessibility audit of the service, including assessment against WCAG and relevant European accessibility requirements. It was prepared on 3rd February 2026.

This service was last tested via audit on 8th January 2026. The audit was carried out by Nexer Digital Ltd
We chose the pages and functions to audit on the basis of the following user journeys:
•    Explore opportunities at Aldi
•    Get additional support for user needs
•    Understand different roles

The audit assessed the following pages and functions:
•    Recruitment IE Home
•    IE About Us
•    IE Diversity and Inclusion
•    IE Stores
•    IE Head Office
•    IE Area Managers
•    IE Warehouse
•    IE Internships
•    IE Graduates
The audit used the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines V2.1, levels A and AA, to determine how well the selected pages comply with the accessibility standard.
