Store Assistant

Being an Aldi Store Assistant

What makes a great Store Assistant? Well, it’s the little things really. A queue of customers at the till? You’ll jump on a different till and halve their waiting time. A pallet of bananas in the warehouse? You’ll put them out in the store, rather than wait for someone else to do it. Ultimately, it’s all about being a naturally friendly, respectful and thoughtful colleague who’s a bundle of enthusiasm and positivity. It’s this positive attitude that helps to make Aldi wonderfully different, not to mention successful.

Meet our Store Assistants

You’ll find fewer Store Assistants at Aldi than most supermarkets. Partly because of the efficient way we work. But also because they’re pretty unique. While others may shirk at the responsibility, our people love to roll up their sleeves and keep the store running as efficiently as possible. Want to know more? Well, let our Store Assistants tell you and watch their videos. They like to do things for themselves, after all.

Market leading package

As an Aldi Store Assistant, you’ll earn €12.30 per hour rising to €14.10 per hour.

Work Life Balance

Your usual contracted hours will be around 25 hours per week, however additional hours are often available.

To keep you refreshed for the dynamic, fast-paced Aldi life, you’ll get 4 weeks' annual leave, as well as bank holidays.

We’re also committed to looking after you. Which is why you’ll receive sick pay, long service awards, maternity, paternity and adoption leave after 2 years.

Learning from the best

On top of the full training programme when you first join, you’ll have some of the best training and development in the retail world throughout your Aldi career.

Great working environment

With so many amazing developments, Aldi stores keep getting better and better. Not only that, you’ll help make sure it’s a place where you and your team can do great things and express your ideas.

Future opportunities

We’re committed to giving our colleagues the training and development to further their careers. In fact, we love to promote from within. Who knows, if you impress us, you might even become a Store Manager one day.

Application Process

We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again – Aldi Store Assistants are wonderfully different. They know how to get the job done, while also giving customers the best experience around. To make sure you’ve got what it takes, we’ll ask you to complete three simple steps.

Online application
Before you tell us more about your skills and attributes, you’ll need to take our situational judgement test. It’s a great way to see if you’re right for Aldi, and if we’re right for you. We’ll test key skills such as mental arithmetic, judgement or memory.

Next, our recruitment team will check your application. If you’re successful, you’ll be invited to an interview. Time for a quick celebration, before brushing up on everything Aldi.

Individual interview
Then it’s time for your interview. This will be with an Area Manager in a store. Afterwards, you’ll take part in the ‘Aldi Experience’, where you’ll get the chance to observe the different tasks you would be expected to complete in the role.
