This programme offers something different and gives students a chance to work in one of Ireland’s largest retailers. The unique way the programme gives students large amounts of responsibility attracted me.

The placement was both challenging and engaging in a number of different ways, allowing me to develop my skillset for my future.

When I was looking for a placement, I really wanted something that would give me an insight into a variety of business areas with a real level of responsibility, which was exactly what the Aldi placement offers. Another reason is the great training and mentoring that Aldi provides for placement students.

My experience from placement made me realise that a career with Aldi was the right choice for me; an opportunity to develop and challenge myself. I’m really looking forward to starting the Graduate Area Manager programme once I graduate.

FAQs

The Industrial Placement is available to students who are required to undergo placement as part of their course. If your course has a required placement element, you are eligible to apply.

We have reached full capacity for our 2021 intake. We will reopen for our 2022 intake in August 2021.

Possibly, but only usually within your chosen region. We’re a fast-growing business so it’s important to have a flexible, understanding approach.

An average working week will be 45 hours. this will be spread over 5 days and may include weekend and evening work.

Your role will cover various aspects of in-store training, head office training and project work. We'll need you to travel between locations, but travel expenses will of course be reimbursed.

If, after graduating, you’re considering Aldi as a career choice – and you performed well on the placement – chances are you’ll be invited to apply for a permanent position. Your Direct Leader will need to recommend you first though.

The health and safety of our employees and candidates is paramount and we will strictly monitor the interview process on an ongoing basis. If your application is successful, we will let you know the interview format closer to the time, which will be in line with the appropriate government guidelines.

If your Masters course has a required placement as part of the course, you are welcome to apply. If your Masters does not have a required placement as part of the course, we would recommend you apply to our Graduate Area Manager Programme.
